Feds propose tax credit for IAQ upgrades by businesses
|
In its latest Economic and Fiscal Update, the federal government announced it is proposing a 25 per cent tax credit on eligible indoor air quality (IAQ) improvement expenses incurred by small businesses. The Small Businesses Air Quality Improvement Tax Credit is designed to make investing in ventilation and air filtration improvements more affordable. The 25 per cent tax credit would apply to the purchase or upgrade of HVAC systems, and the purchase of air filtration equipment using HEPA filters between September 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022, up to $10,000 per location and $50,000 in total.
