The government of Ontario has launched a new digital portal to track worker exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. The Occupational Exposure Registry (OER), which is the first of its kind in Canada, allows workers to anonymously record and track their exposure to 11 designated hazardous substances, including asbestos, lead, mercury and silica. Workers will be able to include information such as how the exposure occurred, and what protective measures were in place, including ventilation, training or PPE.
